Volumetric Efficiency

The volumetric efficiency of a compressor is the ratio of actual gas delivery to theoretical gas delivery. It measures the effective utilization of the working volume of a positive displacement compressor's cylinder.

Cooling Capacity
The refrigeration compressor, as an important component of a refrigeration machine, works in conjunction with other components in the system, such as heat exchangers and throttling devices, to achieve the cooling effect. Therefore, its working capacity needs to be expressed intuitively as the amount of cooling produced per unit time-the cooling capacity.

Heat Discharge
Heat discharge is the sum of the compressor's cooling capacity and the equivalent heat of a portion of the compressor's input power. It is discharged through the condenser in the system. This parameter is a very important performance indicator for compressors in heat pump systems; it is also essential to know when designing the condenser of a refrigeration system.

Indicated Power
The indicated work consumed in the actual cycle per unit time is the compressor's indicated power Pi, measured in kW.

Indicated Efficiency
The indicated efficiency hi of a refrigeration compressor refers to the ratio of the isentropic theoretical work required to compress 1 kg of working fluid to the actual indicated work of the cycle. It is used to evaluate the degree of perfection of the thermodynamic process within the compressor cylinder or working volume. Shaft Power: The power transmitted from the prime mover to the compressor shaft is called shaft power Pe, measured in kW.

Electrical Power and Electrical Efficiency

The power input to the motor is the electrical power consumed by the compressor, measured in kW. Electrical efficiency is the ratio of the theoretical power of isentropic compression to the electrical power; it is used to evaluate the efficiency of utilizing the input power of the motor.

Coefficient of Performance (COP)

To ultimately measure the power economy of a refrigeration compressor, the COP is used. It is the ratio of the refrigeration capacity of the compressor to the power consumed under certain operating conditions.
